Designs with a difference
May 15th, 2012 | pixpaCityscapes redefined
May 10th, 2012 | pixpaSundeep Bali chose Delhi to follow the difficult path of being a landscape photographer. In the beginning, it looked dismal. It seemed as if there was hardly any wilderness or inspiration for landscape imaging. When he enrolled for a nature walk with Pradip Kishen, he had but little expectations. He was in for a surprise. When he saw Mangar Bari, a sacred grove for the Gujjars, he changed his mind.
Safe from the hands of human greed, this island of pristine greenery gave him an impetus to start again. Since that day, he has enjoyed the pursuit of transforming moments into memories. In fact he feels that his photographs may “someday become only visual memory of Delhiscapes given the threat of urbanization that looms large over them.”

Living it up in style

To Virginie Begin, what makes us unique is our self-expression. A committed professional, she has loved fashion for a very young age. She believes that clothes are an image we project of ourselves. Virginie completed her training in fashion marketing at LaSalle College in Montreal in 2000. She has worked as a designer for Gap and Jacob. Her dream of owning her company came true when she founded Virginia B. Stylist in 2010.
Today, she dabbles in fashion, advertising and photography and has made a successful career out of her childhood passion. Pixpa welcomes such spirited thinkers!
Meet the girl in the galli!
May 7th, 2012 | pixpa
“Most stories and journeys begin in the head, even before you run to Wiki and Google. It could be your knowledge, your hunch, your connect with a moment, a place, a situation, a person or it could just be taking a plunge. Your story emanates between the fine lines of what you seek, then how you see it. I spend more time mingling with people and places than photographing them. And I never return as the same person again.”
Also known to the world as Shruchi Kapoor, she calls herself “a storyteller minus the frills or accolades.” After a decade of writing for advertising, she decided to pursue something more meaningful. Late, yet undeterred, she started walking around, hunting in the alleys for something that might be the truth. She saw more than that. As a travel and documentary writer and photographer, she thinks it is more challenging to find stories, rather than scoops.
Some of her stories have been published by The Sunday Guardian, Femina (Gujarat), The Lonely Planet, Spiceroute, TAXI (Chennai’s lifestyle magazine) and online by The India Tube and a few others. She recently showcased for the “Lost in Tradition’ series at The Art Chennai Festival, 2012.
You’re going places, girl in the galli. Team Pixpa admires your courage!
In love with Nature

And, in love with each other. This husband and wife are quite a team. Michaela handles destination, routes, travel and other details while Nicholas looks after the camera equipment for their trip. And, when they are not scouting the world for fantastic photographs, Michaela works as a Principal/Partner in Ernst & Young’s Advisory practice and is a part of the technology enabling team. Nicholas, on the other hand, is a Project Manager with IBM.
Their passion for nature photography takes them across the world. It is an outlet for their creativity. Besides, Nicholas and Michaela believe that these trips bring them closer.
Animals, birds, flora, Nicholas and Micheala have captured them all. Hats off to this super-couple from team Pixpa!
An artist arrives!
May 7th, 2012 | pixpaDaniel M Spiller Jr. or Dan grew up in Louisiana. A childhood love for outdoors and a passion for art led him to major in landscape architecture. He stumbled upon oil pastels one fine day and the rest as they say is history.
Since that day, he has captured simple everyday scenes in the soft, smooth strokes of oil pastels. Be it a sweet sunrise or quaint mills and houses along the roads, Dan paints with a long-forgotten honesty.
Pixpa appreciates the beauty of Dan’s landscapes and wishes him all the best for the future.

What do an artist representation agency, an architect and a theatre designer have in common? Pixpa!
May 7th, 2012 | pixpaClick representatives is an artist representation agency, Pei-Wen Huang is a theatre designer and Mark Parrish is an architect. All of them have chosen Pixpa as their portfolio website.
Why?
Because Pixpa adapts to your needs, rather than the other way around! It is simple, easy to use and very flexible.
For instance, Click Representatives, an artist representation agency based in Denver and New York, chose Pixpa to showcase their work. This agency provides marketing and production services to creative professionals in the photography, film and illustration industry. They have been in the industry of art design, advertising and production for 17 years.
Take the case of Pei-Wen, a theatre designer. She has been working as a theatre designer in New York since 2005. She also designs sets, costumes and lighting. In 2009, she was awarded the KCACTF Certificate of Merit for Set Design for her work on the United States premiere of Iain F. Macleod’s ‘The Pearlfisher’. She is a Friars Club scholar Participant and has received the Rebecca Cunningham Costume Design Award in 2011. Pixpa is her choice too.
A highly talented architect, Mark Parrish uses Pixpa to show the world his remarkable creations. For a portfolio as diverse as his, Pixpa seemed like a natural choice. Not only has he designed relatively mundane parking garages but he has been responsible for highly technical long-term acute care facilities for out-patients in his career as a Project Architect.
An agency, a theatre designer and an architect have different requirements from a website. With Pixpa, they could make changes, the way they wanted to and whenever they wanted to.
This is the greatest thing about Pixpa. It can be what you want it to be. Take a quick tour and get the Pixpa-vantage today!
The colours of life by Nausheen Dadabhoy
May 7th, 2012 | pixpa
A cinematographer based in Karachi and Los Angeles, Nausheen Dadabhoy blends two cultures in her art. She is both a local and a foreigner and this strange paradox is the essence of her work.
A Masters in Fine Arts from the American Film Institute, Nausheen has worked on a variety of projects such as music videos, documentaries, narrative films across countries and genres.
Fine art, super heroes, anime, urban exploration and the world around her intrigues her deeply. It is her unique perspective which gives her stories a distinctive flavour and identity.
